MONTHLY BISON REPORT (CARCASS AND CUTS)
For the Month of February
Bison carcass weights and grain fed wholesale weights remained mostly steady, while prices trended steady to slightly lower. Canadian bison imports were 26% lower and Actual Slaughter numbers were  23% lower compared to January.

Looking back at the November reporting period Federally Inspected Bison was
35% higher, partially due to the longer proccessing month. Canadian Bison
Imports were  16% higher. Grain fed Carcass and Wholesale prices overall
trended steady to higher. While the volume of grain fed carcass and
wholesale weights trended lower

For the Month of October
Looking back at the October reporting period Canadian Bison Imports were
25% lower. Grain fed Carcass and Wholesale prices overall trended lower.
While the volume of grain fed carcass and wholesale weights trended steady
to higher on the majority of items.

MONTHLY BISON REPORT (CARCASS AND CUTS)
For the Month of September
Looking back at the September reporting period Animals Slaughtered in
Federally Inspected plants was 28% lower than in August. Young Heifers and
Aged bulls were also lower by 41% and 48% respectively, followed by Aged
Cows at 91% lower.The drop in Aged Cows and Bulls could be due to
ranchers starting their roundups and holding off on culling the older
animals until then. Some producers may be backed up on inventory, which
could have explained the drop in Young Heifers bought. Prices remained
mostly steady for Trimmings and ground wholesale meat, but volume was
lacking when compared to August, signaling the end of summer and grilling
season.

For the Month of June Bison prices trended steady to mostly higher overall. 
Aged Bulls and Cow carcass's numbers were 30% lower than the month of May.
Overall the Bison market is steady with a steady to firm undertone leading
into the summer months.

steady with the exception of young heifers with were slightly lower.  Canadian
Imports decreased about 10% while Number Slaughtered in Federally Inspected
Plants increased about 20%.

Whole muscle cuts were mixed overall with fresh cuts generally weaker and frozen
cuts generally firmer.  A higher volume of whole muscle cuts were reported as we
enter the winter season where consumer demand shifts more toward roast items.

overall.  Actual Slaughter Numbers in Federally Inspected Plants were steady
while Canadian Live Imports into the U.S. decreased by almost 40 percent.

sex, remained steady for the month of May.  Canadian Live Bison Imports into the
US increased by over 30%, while the number of bison slaughtered in federally inspected plants were generally steady to slightly higher.

Bison Carcasses: Compared to August Report: Prices continued to rise for all ages and all genders of bison as demand continues for bison meat.  The high prices paid for both bulls and heifers were pushing the all time high for bison carcasses.

marketed topped the number of prime bulls and heifers as producers begin the herd culling process.  As aged animaks are ground, this pipeline keeps the ground bison market with a steady stream of available market animals.
